Built by retired shipbuilders
Of the North River
Bringing beauty to the town
And would always deliver
Thomas W. Lawson
One of Scituate’s finest
His gift to the town
Since 1902, the kindest
Standing 153 feet tall
The majestic Lawson Tower
From large open windows
A 3,000 pound bell rings by the hour
123 steps up the spiral stairway
To the grand bell room
A 10 Chime Bell system
To ring out popular tunes
The view of 360 degrees
From Boston to the Northwest
To Provincetown in the East
But it’s the town below I love best
Not just one
But two lighthouses you’ll see
The famous Scituate Light
And Minot Light’s flash of 1-4-3
So I thank Thomas W. Lawson
For whom without, no bells would ring
To honor a man so awesome
Let the bells sing
