When you are not there,
I sit and I stare.
I wait for something to appear,
Perhaps something to give me a little cheer.
Before dawn breaks I lay down to rest,
Wondering why I\'m only just ready to nest.
I check the clock again and again,
And contemplate why I can\'t refrain.
My head is in overdrive,
Begging me to keep the eyes alive.
With a little or a lot,
I still think Im loosing the plot.
My body is ready to shut down,
To keep quite and still, without a frown.
I toss and I turn,
Until I feel the eyes burn;
They flicker and they twitch,
As I turn off the switch
That\'s it, goodnight,
I\'ll be up tomorrow night!
