The Music That Moves My Soul

Being born in the ‘50s

Music was always my friend

It just felt right

A lifelong trend

With Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry

Early legends of Rock & Roll

But now we’ve lost Buddy and Chuck

Sadly we gotta pay the toll

Through the ‘60s and ‘70s

My favorite music years

The British Invasion

And Rock & Roll in my ears

From The Beatles

And The Moody Blues

Buying record albums

I’ve paid my dues

The Beach Boys

With all those great car songs

Give the volume knob a twist

Crank it up all night long

Songs that pick you up

And carry you through mid-air

Well, not really

But with eyes closed you’re there

Sensational guitar pickin’

And song lyrics you’d join in

Go ahead, sing along and pretend

You’re a rock star singing

“The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly”

An instrumental so cool

And “Classical Gas”

How Mason Williams rules

From the band Chicago

“25 or 6 to 4”

Somebody pinch me

I’m like a kid in the record store

Got my toes and fingers tappin’

To the beat of Rock & Roll

Groovin’ to the music of life

The music that moves my soul
