Orange leaves fell from ruby red trees.
Fell through crisp Autumn air like golden glitter.
Reminding me of glue-sticks, knapsacks, pencils, and blank loose-leaf paper.
When I was younger,
I used to race against Time.
I ran fast, thought I\'d quickly reach the end, and peek around a future bend.
Looking back over my shoulder, peeking around a future boulder,
I\'d see Time taking its time, and definitely falling far behind.
But as I grew older, I ran a little slower.
And Time somehow flew ahead so fast
Leaving me gliding, softly sliding
upon the rivers of the past.
Freely falling
through crisp Autumn air
filled with
golden glitter.
