\"I\'ll die if you leave me\"
She was the most needy
Never did protect me
But she clipped my broken wings
Always afraid outside harm would come to me
Even though she knew harm was a thing, daily
I wanted to leave and be so free
But she clipped my broken wings
I thought I\'d get married at 18, so
I could start a life away, though
it didn\'t last long, you know
As she tried to clip my healing wings
Newly married at 22, I was done
never to go back-thought I had won
A new life to embark on-I had a son
She can\'t touch my budding wings
She taught me about the Lord
By many she was adored
In heaven finds rich reward
Don\'t think she meant to clip my wings
