Aubade
It’s dawn and the rooster breaks the silence
Its strong wings flaps rumble the small island
A cup of freshly brewed coffee, priceless
The scented breeze, a welcome indulgence
The sun’s light slowly comes to existence
Out the opened window, the horizon
Slowly the starlit sky hides the diamonds
Birds dart the flowers with perfect timing
Singing, chirping, excitingly rhyming
The sun colors, majestically shining
From the kitchen Grandma’s smile inviting
Her smile disarming, lighting, enchanting
“Have something to eat before departing”
You hear the loud music bombarding
My neighbor’s shrieking voice lyrics chiming
A food truck is coming down, coasting
Full of fried foods, bread, and many postings
A high pitch voice shouts, the music busting
The neighborhood dweller’s blood is pumping
A new day has started and is already thumping
