Alaska Wildlife
It was a trip I’ll never forget
The wildlife here and there
The moose I saw the biggest yet
And also a grizzly bear
The ptarmigan was a beautiful bird
And the magpie pretty too
Both a part of the wilderness
With a lynx there to pursue
Happy were the many squirrels
Scurrying along the trails
Busy in the many spruces
and flashing their bushy tails
The timber wolves were also there
Hunting in their pack
Their tracking collars revealing them
To the rangers keeping track
The ravens flew with their heavy beaks
And the beavers built their dams
The martens preyed upon the weak
And the mountain had its rams
The days lasted twenty hours
And the animals kept pace with it
They were active most the day
and we didn’t mind a bit
