The Green Leaves Of Summer

Resting beneath a blanket of clouds,

Enclosed in an everlasting warmth,

My mind is as clear as the water that surrounds me

Whilst a bitter breeze blows North.

I examine the sky; an array of colours

Pink, beige, yellow and cream

Scattered amongst a tender blue canvas,

A few specks of tender white intervene.

But the natural order of the world is changing.

The wind grows stronger; the sky brighter

And trees which once gently swayed

Become filled with hatred

And scare the birds away.

Destruction. The flames engulf the green and

The green becomes consumed by rouge and

Suddenly, Heaven becomes Hell as

Nature becomes dead.

Resting beneath a blanket of clouds,

Enduring the everlasting warmth,

My mind as clear as the water that surrounds me

As a bitter breeze blows North.
