The Piano
I could have played the piano
As I have the music gene
The keys I could have tickled
Had I practiced anything
They would have given me tips
When I played their tunes
With nostalgia quite a bit
And songs that they could croon
They would have had their tea
And smoked their cigarettes
A waitress would have cleaned
And straightened up their little mess
I would have recorded an album
Had I learned to play
I would have played my songs
And sang them every day
I would have had a fan club
And they would make me go
The girls would be adoring
And my name they all would know
If I just would’ve listened
And practiced every day
I would have been a musician
And I would surely play
