Accidental Poet

If We Poets

Of valued thoughts

I call upon you my friends

Do you contemplate your muse?

The source of writes you penned

Can a muse be male or female?

Would it make a difference?

Maybe it depends on us

Our personal preference

No need to eat

Nor for water do they thirst

But when something to say

To us they turn to first

And some might say

A muse is just a myth

That only in our minds

Does a muse really exist

Personally

I’d like to believe

That within all life

A silent voice conceived

Though I could be wrong

It might be all in my mind

Or maybe of a muse

Similar thoughts you find

For what could be the source

Even with this very write

Some internal energy

Of compositional light

Could it be my muse within

Trying to band with other muses

For all of us

To pen a write for common uses

A calling for world peace

That all tribes of man

Share a sense of compassion

And not destroy each other’s land

The Earth is all we have

Together we must learn to live

Without borders for love

May we all learn to give

We write of emotions

To express with poetic flair

Of things dear to our hearts

For one and all we care

If we poets could convince the world

Without violence we might survive

To save all life on our planet

Keep us all alive
