I decided to climb the mountain.
I looked up at the peak.
The thoughts of challenges still ahead,
Made my knees grow weak.
Everyone said it was impossible,
And when I asked them why.
They said the difficulties were too great,
For me to even try.
So I heeded all their warnings,
And stayed safely on the ground.
Though I wondered what I was missing,
I still stayed safe and sound.
But one day while I was gazing,
Upon the beauty at the top,
I knew that all their warnings,
Would never make me stop.
So I gathered all my courage,
And then I made my plan.
I knew it was now or never,
Right here where it all began.
So I started moving upward,
With all the warnings in my head.
The summit kept on calling me,
And faded all my dread.
When I finally reached the summit top,
The beauty made me cry,
To think of all who missed it,
Because they would never try.
