Pretty For a Black Girl

High school, a time of competition hatred and humiliation. Growing up at an all-white school was difficult. White privilege and the unnecessary use of the N-word stunk the halls, creeping into new comers vocabulary.
I was also friends with a group of white girls as well as some Latinas and black girls. But when compared to my white friends I was always considered the ugly friend but towards my girls of color I was pretty? Why does someone\'s skin color make them unattractive? You should be loved and honored by your presence, your brain, your beating heart that let\'s everyone in, one by one planting a rose in your heart so not only you but they can grow into a beautiful bouquet of roses. Your heart will become so warm, hot that it burns the hate of hell leaving nothing but heaven and its people to shower us in hope and positivity. But instead we have hate. Lingering into our skin poisoning us into monsteras human beings that no god ever wanted to create. So next time you wanna tell me I\'m pretty for a black girl but not compared to white. Touch my heart and feel the burn.
