It is good we should wait
In penitential state
Hope and quietly wait, the Lord
Will give His quickening word
What hope, what waiting for?
\'Tis His salvation sure
And good it we should the yoke bear
In our youth, in it share
So we may sit alone
His discipline be known
We keep silence, for the Lord, He
Has borne it on us, see
Borne it on us, we bear
And in chastening share
\'Til time does come for our relief
We fleeting as a leaf
Though the Lord grief may cause
There is an end and pause
For yet will He have compassion
Shall comfort every one
For it is in accord
With His word, we assured
That multitude of mercies He
Has, and we blessed shall be
