An Ending Universe

For years,
the sun and the moon existed
in my universe.

Although both never together,
they were perfect.
Harmoniously compatible.

And years before my universe,
they were in deep love.
The stars danced,
reflecting their souls.
The planets aligned,
creating a bond.

My universe was complete,
whole.
The sun and the moon,
lit up my skies.
They awoke in me: life,
and breathed in me: love.

But slowly,
the dark clouds hovered
in my skies.
The planets drifted further
apart.
The stars dimmed.
The burning desire
and the glowing love,
faded.

The sun and the moon
accepted their fate
of never being together.

Then,
all at once,
my universe darkened.
