O wait for His power
The appointed hour
When He shall pour on you in copious shower
The Spirit He promised
And sins He has remissed (forgiven)
Wait for His good hour, so it not be missed
And there were they gathered
Together, not scattered
Soon, soon comes the fulfilment of His true word
And so then empowered
His Spirit endowered
Was given, and all there His praises they heard
Power then to witness
And all nations to bless
Who Christ as their Saviour accept and confess
And from Jerusalem
From there it did then stem
Flowed to Judea, Samaria, all them
Then on to uttermost
The gospel makes its boast
In all the earth showing, from coast unto coast
His Spirit fulfilling
Christ\'s mission, grace giving
To spread word of life unto all things living
They continued in prayer
And fellowship did share
Tending to each one with compassion and care
In doctrine and teaching
Each soul they were reaching
Enlightening path for those who were seeking
Broke bread in communion
Including full each one
Accepted by grace through their faith in the Son
And prayers too ascended
As the Spirit He led
Saving some daily, hope of life from the dead
