TWISTED CAP
(c) 2017 Edward York
I remember so much when I was young,
When partying was the norm.
Refreshments were gathered as much as we could,
Within the confines of a dorm.
I was young, and so much was new,
And it came as a big surprise.
That a dollar eighty nine would buy,
Wine in such a hefty size.
It was brought hidden in a paper sack,
Waiting for us to unwrap.
The contents soon would be unleashed,
We just had to break the twisted cap.
The bottle passed to anyone,
Who had ventured through the door.
There was no fear of running out,
We still had plenty more.
The bottle said to serve it chilled,
Experience would teach of how it goes;
This kind of drink almost requires,
That it should be close to froze.
Laughter spreads among the crowd,
As we pretend we\'re having fun,
Spinning beds and nausea,
Disappear with the morning sun.
