Well, a mini-discussion anyway
Whether a waffle or not
Or a soliloquy - talking to one\'s self
Will I get far with it?
Is it a sign of madness?
Well in some therapy ya talk to an empty chair
The madness is if the chair answers ya back!
But I don\'t know what I do want sometimes
What style of worship - quiet, noisy, whatever
To clap or not to clap?
To dance or not to dance?
No need for \'noise\' just for the sake of it
No danger of too much noise in some places
They\'re dead as a door-nail
Lumbering on each week
As is said \'Like a mighty tortoise
Moves the church of God\'
In some places anyway - not all!
Needing to overcome fears
In expressing worship
There are many choices
Not just \'doing the actions\' for the sake of them
But there\'s - standing; sitting; kneeling; praying;
Silence; praise; song;
Showing \'excitement\', etc!
Jumping up and down generally
I\'m quite traditional in my hymn-poems
Was brought up on \'traditional\'
Yet many modern songs
Have the \'irregular\' metres
Difficult to set to a \'formal\' hymn layout
Some may say \"Oh, I didn\'t think you
Would be a \'charismatic\' worshipper
With your sort of personality\"
Though that may not be the main point
Sometimes we don\'t know who has changed churches
And if so, where may they pop up?
Gone from traditional to charismatic?
Or vice versa?
Gone from CofE to RC?
Or vice versa?
And so on.....
Call some \'Happy-clappy\', if you will
Though not all may clap
No-one insists we must all clap
But they\'re generally all happy!
It won\'t go away
They\'ll dance and clap and what-not
Week after week
Not that I hate it; not that I despise it
But it\'s .... not my style really.
Hmmm....
