\"Since I Left You\" - The Avalanches, 2000
This rusted sculpture of refuse meant something
Its bends and welds were created
and now in neglected fields it sits
Decaying
Like the rest of this place it was torn from the ground
and put in storage on display
I wonder if the artist knows
just how overlooked its display is
isn\'t that our ultimate destiny?
To be created molded and bent
only to find a place of rest
out of the way and out of mind
an artist\'s true gravestone is not a granite block
it is their creation
being thrown away creatively
