Back By the Pond

When life takes over the small things
that turn to bigger things.
When my heart and mind gets taken over by thoughts that could kill.
I flee to the place that knows me best.
The place close enough to walk,
but far enough to finally breathe.
The healing silence of the anonymous answers to my thoughts.
The obnoxious but relaxing sounds of the lost duckings,
just trying to find their purpose in a huge pond full of new, scary things.
The crushing of the pebbles as I walk across my fears rejuvenate my insides.
My thoughts escape my diseased mind are set free to explore positivity,
exploring every inch of hope my body has left, hope that I will one day understand my lost self.
The place that sends myself running free away from my doubts, fears and lies, but also terrifyingly helps me face the horrifying but comforting truth.
