COUPLE PULLING A CRACKER
CHRISTMAS CRACKERS are things you pull
Without them Christmas is very dull
When you pull them ~ they go off bang
Everyone gets a Cracker ~ Wizard Prang !
Each one has a Motto a Joke and a Hat
And also a Present and that is that
When we set our table for Christmas Dinner
Each one gets a Cracker ~ it sure is a winner
Before we have eaten and are sleepy and full
The one on the LEFT is the Cracker you pull
And just to make sure the Party is bright
You then turn and pull ~ the Girl on your RIGHT !
You read out the Motto the Riddle or Joke
Every one groans and the room\'s full of smoke !
Everyone smiles ~ the MEN put on their Hat
And the LADIES all say ~ NO I\'m not wearing that !
It will spoil my coiffure and clash with my dress
And I will end up just looking a mess
The MEN they just sigh and swap with their spouse
And order ~ once more is restored in the house
And what of the presents ? Well what can one say ?
Key Rings and trash ~ that we all throw away !
We BRITS may be poor and affluent lackers
But each year we spend MILLIONS on CRACKERS !
