County Line Bar
There used to be a county line
Where all the drinkers went
It was where they spent all their time
And where their checks were spent
The Junkyard was a case in point
And it drew patrons of all types
Some wagered while playing pool
While others drank all night
The waitresses were everyone’s friends
And heard many drinking stories
The men there all flirted with them
With the hopes of maybe scoring
The bartender served the favorite drinks
And told a joke or two
He flirted with the women there
And told jokes to them too
The music was a big attraction
With many dancing there
The DJ kept them all really moving
and smiling from ear to ear
The place closed at the appointed time
And when the lights were all turned on
Many having spent their very last dime
And dreading going home
