Her diamond exterior locks her vulnerability inside,
With sarcasm and humour, in plain sight she can hide.
Alone in the darkness the truth begins to flow,
Too strong for her to control, too fast for her to slow.
The streaks in her makeup, she carefully applied,
Tell the truth as a road map, to anyone who tried.
But before daylight breaks, and her scars can been seen,
A fresh layer of war paint, to the world looks pristine.
She pours all she has into the ones she holds dear,
To conceal from those she loves, her one greatest fear.
She longs to wipe away the mask, to someone she can trust,
But the last one she bared all to, looked at her with disgust.
So when the quiet comes, and the stars own the sky,
She will sit alone in silence, and allow her eyes to cry.
