The Sun and the Moon

Let me tell you of the Sun and Moon,
For him the day would end too soon,
He missed her love and her soul,
And In the depths of his night
he shone upon the world the gift of her light.

For the darkness wasn\'t one to bare
If the reflection of her was not there,
But he knew the world would have to wait for day
as he could never portray her in the same way.
There was nothing like the shine of her love
and she was all he was proud of.

He thought maybe to send thanks, he\'d try,
Maybe she\'d see them across the velvet sky,
for if not for her he\'d have no face,
He would be inessential, hidden and out of place.

There\'s more to him then what he knows,
to us, he\'s a song, a rhyme, a night that glows,
He crashes the waves upon the sands,
he hides the shores and shapes the lands,
But to him, the reason he shines so bright,
Is so even in the dark she\'s held in our sight.

One day I hope I\'ll get the chance
to be like the moon and find romance,
To be in total awe of someone\'s grace,
Echoing their beauty into the corners of space.
