The Doors Of Perception

One fine day in May of 1953
A great man took upon a self experiment, for the greater good of humanity

If the experiment was to work or fail it was hard to tell
The messculine was slow to take effect
But after two and half hours it is reported that Aldous Huxley was reponding well

The more that time elapsed, the better the understanding that Huxley grasped

We were living in a world far greater than our minds could comprehend it seemed
A kaleidoscope of consciousness, God and dreams

It seemed to him that indorder to comprehend
The human brain must be fitted with a filter..
A cap for the lense

If it wasn\'t then humanity would be a different story
Man could not cope with the unfiltered creation of the cosmos in its infinite glory

To find true wisdom the doors of perception must be cleansed
Wisdom can be found by those who seek it...
Remove your cap from your lense

He chose to write a book or there\'d be no story to tell
The Doors of Perception / Heaven and Hell

He inspired James Douglas Morrison to write lyrics to the rock concert in his head
The greatest front man of the last century is also now sadly dead

Follow in his footsteps with all night binges
Don\'t just cleanse the doors
Leave them hanging from their hinges

In memory of one Aldous Huxley
Who died 22nd November 1963
The same day as President John F Kennedy
