I have a daughter
She\'s 42 now
And I am 43
Today is her birthday
Reporters came
They came not for her
But for me
You see miracles of miracles
I never get older than 43
A reporter stepped up
and to my face said to me
\"Pardon me ma\'m
But you look like you\'re 63.\"
\"Well young man,\" I said
(holding back a slap from my hand)
\"You don\'t understand.
I am still 43.\"
Then to my horror
(though I adore her)
My daughter  said to me
\"Mom, I didn\'t want to tell you before
And hope you won\'t get sore,
But you do look like you are 63.\"
So I looked in the mirror
For the first time in years
OMG I thought
Almost in tears
I quickly decided
(despite all that transpired)
Not to agree.
So I said
\"No, you\'re all wrong. Â
I look like I\'m 43.\"
The reporters packed up
Saying they\'d had enough
And shuffled out of the door.
My daughter  turned to me
\"Mom, I was just kidding
Giving you a ribbing
Of course you look 43.\"
\"Of course.\" I replied
As she let out a sigh
And smiling she said to me
\"I love you Mom.\"
\"I love you too.\"
Happy Birthday my baby
Happy Birthday to you.\"
