I stood to face the mirror,
It left me feeling strange.
I examined the reflected image,
And noticed all the change.
Aches and pains have settled in,
Sometimes it\'s hard to stand.
Smooth skin has been replaced by rough,
Like the wind erodes the sand.
I used to like the excitement,
Experiencing all of life\'s joys.
Now, I seek more solitude,
Just to escape the noise.
My face has gained some wrinkles,
But I\'ve learned not to care.
It seems to match perfectly,
To the graying in my hair.
I take life a little slower,
While others are rushing past.
I realize the things I\'m missing,
When moving through too fast.
Some say that age brings wisdom,
We\'ve just learned the things it takes.
We didn\'t get any smarter,
We just remember our mistakes.
