The skeptics superstition
Is dark intuition
A monks meditation beside candlelight
Leaves scholarly rooms for splendid delights
Sacred symbols fall inside dreams
Slipped through consciousness narrow stream
Fallen empires haunted histories
Angels transcend ancient philosophies
This Sphinx
Wears a crucifix
One eye open the other closed
For past wars and futures unknown road
These dunes of nothingness
Desert fathers and the Great Rest
Look to the Sphinx
With the cross shining on his chest.
