Jessie

Running Girl

My demons are catching up,

A running girl can only run so fast,

Time runs out alongside her,

To the day I breathe my last,

Ah, yes, a running girl,

Afraid to face it and turn,

To see the monsters lurking behind,

They’re winning the battle in her mind,

Pray for the girl who slit her wrists,

But where were your prayers,

When she cried out in despair,

When you called her fat, ugly, bitch?

It’s easy to be kind,

When someone is fighting in the hospital,

But not when you can’t see their fight,

Not when you haven’t seen them fall,

So I’m still running alone.
