Two trains stopped in the middle of the night
On adjacent tracks with windows all alight
He looks across to the woman in the other train
Only a few feet away, separated by window pane
Lovely face, framed by black hair, beautiful eyes
Wondering about her life, what her posture implies
Then she looks at him and sends across a big smile
A beautiful facial expression without guile
A gift from a stranger, he does not expect
And without words the two do connect
Two lonely souls, brought together, yet apart
For only a moment until the trains will depart
