The beavers are gone
Perhaps the powers that be
Crushed their house
(It\'s just a pile of loose sticks now)
Beavers being a nuisance to manmade culverts
And civilization as we know it
They block them, the culverts, you see
In their eagerness to build
But all I know is that the beavers are gone
And the rushes blow alone in the wind.
