Heather T

ice queen

my world was a globe

and you shook it

with careless and clenched teeth

I had forgotten how to bleed

burned snowblind against the blank

unending space of your landscape

coagulating sanguine flakes

refused to leak across the page

words were strangled in my veins

those black branches screaming

in the bleak unpulsing dark

shiverless

unkissed

spidering every corner

of the statue\'s gray lips

she spat her frigid words

like many glass house stones

and we shattered into splinters

into many splintered bones

frozen in their spheres

clicking bitter sleet

and nothing grows

no

nothing

nothing grows between her feet

now I can\'t feel my fingers

in this bloodless avalanche

I stopped digging through your arteries

to find their labyrinths blanched

congealed in one pale place

where rage is a cold

cold thing

I am mad

and violent winter

I am

the queen
