The Math Problem

One story. Two sides.
Divided.
Like the number two.
Divided.
By the ones who,
Were in awe of each other at a point.
And right when you thought it was one,
It was two.
Divided.
By the distance and time.
Never having the chance to talk,
Or ever hanging out with just the two,
It was never two, it was one.
Divided.
By “what if’s” & “why nots”.
Divided.
By money they both needed.
Divided.
By not being able to say what’s on the heart.
Divided.
By everyone but the only one,
The only one she’s ever wanted.
Even though the story is divided,
She is willing to fight.
Divided.
No, no more dividing.
She multiplies to get it back.
She doesn’t want to be divided anymore.
No more dividing!
No more “what if’s” and “why nots”.
No more dividing!
By the money they both need.
No more dividing!
She is going to say what’s on her heart.
No more dividing!
He is the only one.
