The day is again upon us.
When released from his cage,
All eyes on the giant rodent,
As he takes center stage.
He has become quite a celebrity,
The crowds gathered on the scene,
Hopes, prayers, and fingers crossed,
A shadow won\'t be seen.
It was hard for me to imagine,
That so many get a thrill,
From such a hairy creature,
Known as Punxsutawney Phil.
Some try to sway his judgment,
He may even get a threat,
Just to keep his eyes closed,
But nothing has worked yet.
He is never very popular,
Unless clouds cover the sun,
Announcing to the people,
That winter\'s almost done.
