I don\'t think you ever meant to break me
But you chiseled away at my porcelain skin
Until
There was nothing left
But a cracked half-smile
I found the pieces
I don\'t think you intended to burn me
But
You lead me to the fire
And I had no choice but to
Touch
The stove
My skin callused
Now--
I know you tried to drown me
But you\'re not as deep as you think
And
I can swim.
Still, your flood washed over me
Just enough to nourish a seed
Deep in the pit of me
Weeds and wild flowers
sprouted and tangled
Their way up
And bloomed through my lips
Lillies and Snapdragons-
They taught me to
Spitfire
back at you
Your skin
blistered
in the heat
The light illuminated the
Lost
fragments of my porcelain skin
I\'ve put them back together again.
Now--
I\'ve got gold in the cracks
And I\'m stronger then I have ever been.
