Adrianna Kjeld

Floral, Red Dress.

\"Dressing up has never been my  thing\", she quietly confessed.
Pants and T\'s was where she leaned,  to avoid the immense stress.
But when she met a certain boy, she didn\'t want to look a mess.

She didn\'t have too many things,
But she clung onto what her friends would bring.

This time her friend was her grandmother
Who was usually laid back in the clothing sense, didn\'t hover.

Her grandmother handed her this dress;
red with love,
and Hawaiian flowers were printed,
and off to the bathroom she happily sprinted.

...

She tried it on,  in front of the mirror,
then up to her room, to see a bit clearer.
she whipped out her camera, without an ounce of fright,
she took a picture and sent it to him, full of delight.

The next time she saw him
in his phone\'s background it sat.
Her with a smiling face,
her red dress,
her cheeks blushed...
He smiled and gave his phone a quick tilt
Not an ounce of shame and she had no guilt.

It was the little things, like the red dress.
It was the little things in his head, no less.

These are the kinds of things that should be addressed.
