I was five.
It was the night of my favorite holiday.
Our family went out for drinks,
You were kind enough to stay back and watch me.
I was having a blast:
Playing board games, eating sweats, and watching TV.
The next thing I knew,
You dragged me into the bedroom.
You tore our clothes off and threw me onto the bed.
Before I could question anything,
You were inside me.
I was years beyond my body\'s age of five.
It was the day after the holiday I now hated.
Our family was home,
We were all sitting around the table for breakfast.
I was in more pain than thought imaginable,
My forced smile disguised my sad and frightened eyes.
After eating, it was time for me to go home.
You gave me a hug that lasted too long,
In that moment, I knew you owned me.
As my parents stood around talking,
You looked at me and smiled.
Right then, I could see the devil living in your eyes.
