The Owl and the Rat

Two sought the Child, eyes on their prey

the Owl, Draped White. Bleaching the sky, an angel of death.
The Rat, decorated in dirt, earth was its theatre.

A Giant to the sinners. the woods, but only a spectacle, watching
from afar the struggle of the innocent. Though it hungered for sin, His talons immaculate.

A monster to the faint of heart, vermin to the ill minded. Hungered for power, His mouth
warm with blood

The Child. pure as light, a strength, a weakness? Nothing but prey to those who sought the flesh
of potential. Of promise. A future unclear? They both knew the answer. Though through fate
they had been blessed, the future always exceeds the past.

Though the child, frail, and tiny,
the shape, witness the end of all ends. The predator, the prey.

We all fall victim to ourselves, despite our potential.

In the end, we are all prey.
