Immature

If grown up  is eating  greens

And washing the car on Sunday

Then let me be a child once more

And grant me a \'day to play\' day

I might want to pick my nose sometimes

And slurp milk up from the bowl

If having such good manners

Is what defines me being old

I\'ll run about and scream and shout

Wear plasters on my knee

If being mature means sitting still

And  sipping Earl Grey tea

And yes I\'d like to make mud pie

And climb that dangerous tree

Imagine I have a bike that flies

And a best friend called ET

So cancel all those formal dos

And stuffy dinner dates

I want to wait for the ice cream van

And swing on garden gates

And I know you\'re thinking what a fool

Don\'t be so immature

But I think it\'s good to sometimes be

The child you were before!
