EMOTIONS IMPRINTS

EMOTIONS IMPRINTS

No moonlight stained the inky sky

as lashing rain clouds smote

the crumbling lichen coated walls

with tarnished cross-keys set in stone.

Inside in kinship and at ease

the boisterous friends and family

stood round the glowing logs of red

as steam from sodden outerwear

ran down the diamond window panes

Fine carolling in harmony

like incense rose and filled the air

and in the days that followed on

emotions imprints lingered long.
