I nailed my frown to the cross of justice,
And kept it there too long.
Waiting for the weeping of wolves
and the crying of crows.
My hunger abated not.
God is jealous.
Justice, like blame, is His.
He approaches in His own time.
His shadow lengthening in the long day of His knowing.
Campassion is for man;
Cawing and howling for compassion.
Now I sing compassion\'s song.
Down from my cross.
Playing with my children.
Far from it\'s shadow,
And from God\'s.
