Selas A’ Mi

Selas A’ Mi

How gentle the moon appears
Soft, hanging above the night
He commands his army of stars
I like to think of us as silent friends
I like to think that the moon knows me
I have gazed above intent to understand
I like to think we share a dream
The moon and me are old friends who’ve never spoken
Seeing each other’s faces only through the starry veil
Yet knowing every curve and contour of one another’s visage
How I long to land a rocket on the moon
How I long to shoot into space and see life from his invisible fortress
