Whispers on the Wind

Mesmerized of skies above

I sat watching clouds passing by

How they form and fade away

If like us, they live and die

A living, breathing, thinking sky

Spirits aloft in the air

As old as the Earth

Origins of who knows where

Inspiring tranquil sunrises

Quiet breezes through the trees

Wispy clouds give way

To blue skies we see

The warmth of the Sun

Radiates through the atmosphere

Fuel for changing moods

And rain falls like tears

Thunderous voices

When storms roll in

Flashes of light

Angry thoughts within

Tornados and hurricanes

Temper tantrums of weather

‘Nor’easters and cyclones

Take shelter till it gets better

And as the storms pass

Skies slowly clear

Nature returns so peaceful

Birdsong you’ll hear

Subtle voices calling

Of receptive conscience within

Listen closely for

Whispers on the wind
