Originality has long gone
The words we hear have been cycling in the stratosphere
The youth think they are cool, but cool is not hiding behind a screen
Walking alongside a fellow human, only to avert eye contact
We are taught to ignore and plod on
So many high achievers but not a decent soul in sight
Taking ourselves much too seriously
Our society only allows for a foetus to be a child
Yet still there is always a reason to continue
No matter how many tumbles, or winces and cringes
We were born in the nude and anything else we amass is a token of life
Easier said than done, as always
Pushy parents, bosses
To run from society, seems like you would be running from life
But the pressures of society can be avoided if we retreat into our brains
If we do as if we were virgins of life itself
As if no one had taught us how to live or what to say and when to say it
Is it not exhausting being acceptable?
