Sent forth ahead to prepare a room
Fit for Christ, He the heavenly Groom*
Peter and John sent, and shown the place
Where all would feast by God\'s good grace
For Christ did say, With earnest desire
With you in this feast I aspire
This Passover before I suffer
And comfort sure on you confer
Take, eat and drink here, of bread and wine
For these be symbols true and fine
Of Christ\'s blood shed, and body broken
His life given up for all men (mankind)
Let us await, here in fellowship
And to Christ give our true worship
Be those as He said, they continue
With Him in His trials, even you
I shall be there, there shall be my heart
With you, though you would soon depart
To suffer, die, then to rise again
We shall share in your glories then
