Looking at the Shiny Metal Screws
Shiny metal screws in the back of my mind
Sleek steel plates guard what’s inside
Shimmer in the light
Black leather and white
Steel plated couches
Brick walls
Subway tiles that speak into my life.
Air filled with beans
Fulfilling my caffeine needs
And in my reflection on the wall
I see you and I fall
Low hanging lights
High ceiling flights
Gray skies and long sleepless nights
All carried in my pack
The one I threw down
The one that seems to hold my whole life
Among the fumes
memories hang
In the orange glow
Hearts have sang
On the orange walls, blood stains
