Psalm 58

Do you indeed speak righteousness?
You people, do you bless?
And do you judge in uprightness?
Yet in heart you work wickedness
With violence you oppress
The wicked are estranged from birth
They give not good its worth
But they speak lies, poisonous snakes
Though man seeks to charm them, none makes
Progress for goodness\' sakes
They are like lions, their teeth break
O God, for truth each fakes
So that they devour not those
Who your way, the good way, have chose
Which none the evil knows
Let them melt away as a snail*
When they move and leave trail
As waters melt when in a thaw
Turn back their bows and arrows sure
Let them fail evermore
Let them be as birth untimely
Stillborn, no daylight see
Take them away in your whirlwind
And do not your wrath them rescind
For they sorely have sinned
The righteous then shall glad rejoice
And praise you with one voice
When they see displayed your vengeance
Reward shall be for righteous hence
They shall your judgement sense
