What would I say to my Nana
If she were here today?
I\'d say sorry to my Nana
Sorry is what I\'d say
Because I did not see my Nana
As often as I should.
There are no excuses for you Nana
I should have cause I could.
What would I say to my Nana
If she were here in front of me?
I\'d say I love my great Nana
I love you Nana, more than you can see.
Because I didn\'t show this to Nana,
Not even at the end,
But I do love you Nana,
This isn\'t just pretend.
What would I say to my Nana,
If she heard my voice?
I\'d say I need you Nana
But now I have no choice.
Because you\'re not here Nana
You\'ve passed and moved on
And I\'m struggling with guilt
For being too late. Your gone.
What would I say to my Nana,
What could I say?
I\'m sorry Nana, I truly am
For all the years, months and days
That I wasn\'t there for you Nana
That I ignored you,
It wasn\'t because I hate you Nana
I know you don\'t hate me too.
This poem is to my Nana,
In heaven with my mum.
There are so many things
I wish I could have done.
So learn from my words,
Be more than I, be clever
Don\'t forget your Papa or you Nana
Because they won\'t be here forever.
