Rain Comes
The rain tapped on my window
And tried to come in
But I recognized the rap
And left it in the wind
I waited ‘til the coast was clear
And the knocker was long gone
Though after a couple days went by
I saw it on my lawn
It filled my little gauge
And made sure that I knew
That it had watered the primrose
And the blue bonnets too
I found I needed it
To clear the gray away
And reveal the colors it did
With a rainbow in its place
Today I enjoy its percussion
There on my metal roof
And I relax when I hear it
With a little nap there too
