He has an education,
Went to college,
Went to a big university
But, community first.
Had a girl his senior year
Of high school,
She was only a sophomore,
But, fell for each other
In theater, theater love is real.
She took the same
Education route as him,
They both make it big
In their careers,
Him in economics,
Her in photography.
They seep into the public eye,
Him owning his business,
Starting small but,
Becoming huge.
Her started in their house,
Now stepping into
National Geographic.
They get married,
Loved each other since
High school,
It\'s love they found,
And they kept with it,
Not stopping,
Even if their parents are
Iffy about them from
The get go.
Their careers are successful,
They started from the bottom,
And they\'re making money,
They say paying the bills
Are no problem.
They decide to have kids,
Started with one,
Ended up with three
A few years later,
The rich lifestyle they have.
He adds is friends
As business partners,
Making millions a year,
No complaints,
A great life, his family says.
But, war breaks out,
A big one, no small one,
He always says if he thought
It was needed he would go,
He signs up, living his wife
To replace him in the business.
He goes to war,
None of the fancy stuff,
He wants to help,
And goes to the front lines,
He sees hell in the next year.
Bang,
Bang,
Bang,
Bang,
Bang.
He goes down,
Gasping for air,
He looks down
He sees red poring out,
He tells his comrades
To keep going,
He says, he\'s fine.
He knows he\'s not,
He can\'t stop the red flow,
He thinks of her,
He thinks of his kids,
He\'d do anything
To see them again,
He knows he\'ll never
Get a hug again from them,
Or a sweet kiss from her lips.
His life is over,
He can\'t write a check
To save him,
It\'s too late now,
Nothing can save him,
But, he did it for them,
His family,
His friends,
And his country,
He did it so his kids
Wouldn\'t have to.
So, he lays there,
And thinks of his family,
He loves them,
He begins to cry
For his kids,
Oh, how he wants
To be with them,
He cries for her,
How he wants her
In his arms,
When he held her,
That was his whole
World in his arms.
And he passes,
He\'s just another
Laying there dead,
No more success,
No more money,
No more friends,
No more family,
No more of him.
But, he did it for
What he left behind.
