Hebrews 12 v.5 - 11

And have you here forgotten
The word, the exhortation?
Which speaks to you as children
Hear my child, you are my son
Despise not the chastening
Of the Lord in anything
Nor faint when you are rebuked
Of Him, nor be discouraged
For whom he loves he chastens
And too each son He scourges
If you chastening endure
God deals with you as sons sure
For what son there be, who he
His father chastens not, see
But if you are not chastised
Your true sonship is denied
For all partakers are we
Of this, so God deigns it be
For our fathers, who human
Corrected us, e\'en each one
And we gave them reverence
So shall we not as from hence
To the Father of spirits
Be subject as it befits?
Our fathers for a few days
Chastened us as seemed their ways
Right to do, for their pleasure
Yet God as to His measure
Chastens us, to for us bless
That we share His holiness
Now no chastening does seem
Joyous, we do not it deem
At the present seems grievous
Nevertheless it yields us
Afterwards the peaceful fruit
Of righteousness follows suit
